REVIEW – Batmobile™ Tumbler LEGO® Set

I remember the first time I saw “Batman Begins” in theaters. Having grown up on Batman movies, and having witnessed firsthand the decline of the franchise, it was unlike anything that I ever expected. One of the more crowd-pleasing moments was the introduction of the Tumbler, the Nolan Trilogy’s version of the Batmobile. If you’re familiar with the Batman comics, you’d instantly recognize the design as harkening to the more tank-like interpretations. This isn’t a sleek vehicle; this is a tank. Now, LEGO® enthusiasts can bring this legendary vehicle to life with the LEGO® Batmobile™ Tumbler (set 76240). In this review, we’ll delve into the details of this set, exploring its design, features, and overall appeal. Before we go further, it’s worth noting that LEGO® recommends this set for ages 18+. As we get into the building experience, you’ll see why.

The Unboxing Experience

The first thing that strikes you about the LEGO® Batmobile™ Tumbler is its striking design. True to the original vehicle from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, this LEGO rendition captures the essence of the Tumbler perfectly. The angular lines, imposing profile, and intricate details make it instantly recognizable to anyone who would see it on display.

Upon opening the box, you’re greeted with the usual numbered bags, but may be taken aback by the number of bags (depending on your experience). There are 11 bags overall, holding 2,049 pieces.

BUILDING THE BATMOBILE

The number of bricks in this kit provides a satisfying yet challenging building experience for both seasoned LEGO® builders and newcomers alike. The build process is engaging, with each step carefully laid out in the lengthy instruction manual (which is over 400 pages). The attention to detail in the design is exceptional, from the exterior panels to the cockpit and weaponry. However, the scale of the build may be too complex for younger builders. Of course, this may not be an issue if they are experienced with a similar level of build.

does it come in black?

One of the highlights of the LEGO® Batmobile™ Tumbler is its array of features. The cockpit panels reveal a detailed interior, complete with seating for Batman and a control panel. The wheels are equipped with rubber tires, adding to the authenticity.

Additionally, the set includes a rotating display stand and a placard outlining features and specs of the Tumbler from the films. Further, it includes two minifigures to display as well: Batman and the Joker. Both minifigures are in the style of “The Dark Knight”.

conclusion

The LEGO® Batmobile™ Tumbler (76240) set is a must-have for fans of Batman and LEGO alike. Its impressive size, attention to detail, and faithful recreation of the iconic vehicle make it a standout addition to any collection. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a casual builder, assembling and displaying this set is sure to evoke a sense of satisfaction and nostalgia. If you’re a fan of the Dark Knight trilogy or simply appreciate well-designed LEGO® sets, the Batmobile Tumbler is more than worth your time and money.

And yes, Mr. Wayne, it comes in black.
