As I’ve said numerous times, The Empire Strikes Back is hands down my favorite movie in the Star Wars franchise. While A New Hope is where it all started, Empire is where the world-building foundations begin. Many of the things that we’ve come to see as central to the story of Star Wars began with The Empire Strikes Back. One of those central elements is the training necessary to become a Jedi.
Luke would come across Yoda in hiding on Dagobah. From there, the former Jedi Grandmaster would begin Luke’s Jedi training. This training was not only physical, but also psychological and spiritual. All Jedi training that would normally take years to undergo would be done in a matter of weeks (possibly months, depending on the source you use). It’s in the spirit of that Jedi training that we take a look at the LEGO Star Wars Dagobah Jedi Training (75330) diorama.

overview
- Set Name: LEGO Star Wars Dagobah Jedi Training
- Set Number: 75330
- Piece Count: 1,000 pieces

The LEGO Star Wars Dagobah Jedi Training (75330) set is a wonderful addition to any LEGO Star Wars collection. With 1,000 pieces, this set is designed for more experienced builders. The scene recreates the iconic training scene from Empire Strikes Back. The set includes minifigures of Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and R2-D2. From Yoda’s hut to the trees to the Red 5 wing poking from the green water, the essence of the Dagobah swamp is faithfully captured.
design & build
- Authentic Recreation: Detailed representation of the Dagobah swamp
- Intricate Details: Includes Yoda’s hut and various swamp elements
- Minifigures: High-quality designs of Luke, Yoda, and R2-D2
The design of the LEGO Star Wars Dagobah Jedi Training set is impressive. It captures the mystical and murky atmosphere of Dagobah. The set features Yoda’s hut, complete with his bed, cooking pot, and various details that reflect his humble dwelling. The surrounding swamp area is intricately built with trees, vines, and swamp water elements. It makes a visually captivating display piece despite its fairly small size. Yoda said it best: size matters not. The included minifigures are meticulously designed, with Luke in his training outfit, Yoda with his cane, and a muddied R2-D2. One of my favorite aspects is the wing of Luke’s crashed X-Wing sticking out of the green water.

Of course, as a display piece, the Dagobah Jedi Training diorama is impressive itself. However, I always recommend aftermarket LED lights for these LEGO Star Wars display sets. The impact on Dagobah doesn’t disappoint. The interior of Yoda’s hut can be illuminated, and the rear light of Red 5’s single visible cannon can light up. This is definitely a set I’d recommend an LED kit for.

build experIENCE
- Challenging Build: Offers a satisfying challenge for experienced builders

- Engaging Process: Fun and immersive building experience
Building the Dagobah Jedi Training set is an engaging experience that offers a good balance of challenge and enjoyment. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, which is par for the course from LEGO. This ensures that even complex sections are manageable. The build process is immersive, as each section adds to the overall atmosphere of Dagobah. From constructing the detailed interior of Yoda’s hut to placing the final swamp elements, the build is both satisfying and rewarding.
